Clinton warns of "profound" economic impact of border ID plan

U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton says the economic impact of a Bush administration proposal to have people crossing the U.S.-Canadian border use a "passport card" has not been adequately evaluated.

The New York Democrat told the U.S. State Department that the proposal is of "tremendous importance" to New Yorkers, and to all Americans who live near the U.S.-Canadian border.
