Clinton Calls For More 9/11 Treatment Funding
Two days after announcing her presidential run, Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton is pushing the president to do more to help World Trade Center first responders.
The state's junior senator was at the World Trade Center site Monday with other lawmakers including Senator Charles Schumer, to call attention to the cause she's been championing for years.
The group was calling on President George W. Bush to commit nearly $2 billion in his budget to treat those who fell ill in the aftermath of the 2001 terrorist attack.
“Without the president's budget commitment, the program that is treating many of these victims will end,” said Clinton.
